A visit to the Mekong Delta, a maze of rivers, swamps and islands in the southern part of Vietnam where villages are surrounded by rice paddies is a peak into the Vietnamese noble existence.
Vietnam – a tapestry of experiences
A visit to the Central Post Office built in a typical French style architecture is only one of the many architectural highlights presented. The Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon is located in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, built between 1863 and 1880 by French colonists. This building is also known as the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception can be recognized by two bell towers, both 58 metres high. Other impressive buildings forming part of the tour are Independence Palace, the War Remnants Museum and Cu Chi Underground Tunnels. These network of tunnels can be located in the Cu Chi district and were used by Vietnam soldiers during the war as a hiding place.
The tour includes a boat ride to a small brick factory, a coconut processing workshop and a local mat-weaving house and visitors can really immerse themselves in the lives of ordinary working-class Vietnamese. A cycle tour explores the Hanoi’s old quarters and then a trip on a sampan takes visitors on a journey through the canals. The Perfume River is another destination taken on a boat to explore the architectural scenery surrounding it. Halong Bay with its magnificent scenic sites is explored via boat before a sampan takes visitors to the Luon Cave before heading back again to meet up in Hanoi for transport to the airport.
